Our Values
TENETS OF FAITH AND DOCTRINE The church accepts the scriptures as the revealed Will of God, the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice, and for the purpose of maintaining general unity, adopts these Statements of Fundamental Truths and Doctrine.
THE SCRIPTURES INSPIRED The Bible is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God to man, true, immutable, steadfast, and unchangeable (2 Timothy 3:16-17) and a rule of faith and conduct for our lives (II Tim. 3:15-17: I Peter 1:23-25: Heb. 4:12).
THE ONE TRUE GODHEAD The triune Godhead is comprised of three separate and distinct personalities, the Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit, who are eternally self-existent, self-revealed, equal in divine perfection (I John 5:7) and function as one entity. Jesus Christ, who is God manifested in the flesh, is the second member of the Godhead, co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and The Holy Spirit.
MAN, HIS FALL AND REDEMPTION Man was created good and upright, for God said, “Let Us make Man in Our Image, after our likeness”. But, man, by voluntary transgression, fall and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ the Son of God. (Genesis 1:26-31, 3:1-7: Romans 5:12-21)
THE PLAN OF REDEMPTION We believe that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us, took our place, and with His life’s blood purchased the pardon for all who believe in Him (John 3:16; Titus 2:14).
SALVATION THROUGH GRACE We believe that salvation is wholly through grace; that no human righteousness or merit can contribute to our receiving God’s love and favor (Ephesians 2:8).
REPENTANCE AND ACCEPTANCE We believe that, upon sincere repentance and a whole-hearted acceptance of Christ, we are justified before God through Jesus’ sacrificial death (Romans 10:6-10; 1 John 1:9).
THE SALVATION OF MAN Man’s only hope of redemption is through acceptance of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice and his shed blood for the remission of our sins. On the cross Jesus Christ became sin and sickness providing both salvation and divine healing for all mankind (Psalm 103:3), being justified freely by His Grace we are saved through faith. “The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart: that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved: for with the heart man believes, resulting in salvation.” (Romans 3:24: Ephesians 2:8: Romans 10:8-10)
(a) The evidence of Salvation. The inward evidence to the believer of his salvation, is the direct witness of the Spirit (Romans 8:16). The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness.
“And this is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us” (I John 3:23). Believers will have new desires, interests, and pursuits in life (2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20).
(b) Faith and Works. Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ and not by human works: however, our works will determine the rewards in eternity (Romans 10:9-10 and II Cor. 5:10).
THE NEW BIRTH We believe that the change that takes place in people at conversion is a very real one; that having received righteousness in Christ and having received of His Spirit, people will have new desires, interests, and pursuits in life (2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20).
DAILY CHRISTIAN LIFE We believe that it is the will of God that those who have been born again grow in sanctification, become partakers of His holiness, and daily grow stronger in the faith, power, prayer, love, and service (2 Corinthians 7:1).
BAPTISM IN WATER The ordinance of baptism by a burial with Christ should be observed as commanded in the Scriptures by all who have really repented and in their hearts have truly believed on Christ as Savior and Lord. It is the representation of Old Testament circumcision, the cutting away of the old nature and coming forth in Christ having come into a person’s heart. In so doing, they declare to the world that they have died with Jesus and that they have been raised in newness of Life with Him. (Matt. 28:19: Acts 10:47, 48: Romans 6:4).
THE LORD'S SUPPER “And when He had given thanks, He broke it, and said ‘This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.’ Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup.” (I Cor. 11:24, 25, 28). We believe in the observing the Lord’s Supper, we partake of a “covenantal meal,” which brings us into covenantal relationship with Yahweh (God) and with the purposes of Christ experienced through his death and resurrection and eternal life. (I Corinthians 11:24-26).
THE PROMISE OF THE FATHER All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek, the promise of the Father, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of all in the early Christian church. With it comes the endowment of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry. (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8; I Cor. 12:1-31). This wonderful experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth (Acts 2:38; 10:44-46; 11:14-16; 15:7-9).
THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT The full consummation of the Baptism of believers in the Holy Spirit is seen by the empowerment of the individual with manifestations of spiritual power in public testimony, which may include the physical sign of speaking in unknown languages as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2:4;10:44-46;19:2, 6; 1:8). This is seen as an empowerment of believers to exalt Jesus, to live lives of holiness, and to be witnesses of God’s saving grace in the same manner that which came upon the believers in the days of the early Church (Acts 1:5,8;2:4).
THE SPIRIT-FILLED LIFE We believe that it is the will of God that believers walk in the Spirit moment by moment, serving the Lord and living lives of patience, love, truth, sincerity, and prayer (Ephesians 4:30-32; Galatians 5:16, 25).
THE GIFTS AND FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT We believe that the Holy Spirit bestows enabling ministry gifts upon believers, and that these gifts will build up the Body of Christ through edification and evangelism(1 Corinthians 12:1-11); as evidence of a Spirit-filled life, believers should show spiritual “fruit”: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance (Galatians 5:22-25).
MODERATION We believe a Christians’ moderation should be obvious to others and that relationship with Jesus should never lead people into extremes of fanaticism; their lives should model that of Christ in uprightness, balance, humility, and self-sacrifice (Colossians 3:12, 13; Philippians 4:5).
DIVINE HEALING We believe that divine healing is the power of Jesus Christ to heal the sick in answer to the prayer of faith; He, who does not change, is still willing and able to heal the body, as well as the soul and spirit in answer to faith (Mark 16: 17, 18; James 5:14-16).
THE CHURCH The church is made up of many types of individuals relating to family groups that come together to fulfill the commission of God. We believe that it is our sacred duty to walk covenantally with ourselves and with a congregation of believers with whom we can worship God, observe the ordinances of Christ, exhort and support one another, labor for the salvation of others, and work together to advance the Kingdom of God (Acts 16:5; Hebrews 10:24; Ephesians 1:22; 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23).
APOSTLES AND PROPHETS We believe that Apostles and Prophets are used by God today to start and guide churches. They are seen as first in order of authority in the local church (I Cor. 12:28). The church is seen as an outgrowth and result of the activities of Apostles and Prophets.
THE FALL OF MAN We believe that man, created in the image of God, by voluntary disobedience fell into the depths of sin and iniquity, bequeathing sin’s nature and consequences to all mankind, with their accompanying loss of intended meaning and purpose (Genesis 1:27; Romans 5:12).
BLESSED HOPE Jesus is coming again to gather all his Saints to ever be with Him (I Cor. 15:51-52; I Thess. 4:16-17; and II Thess. 2:1).
THE LAKE OF FIRE Those who have not accepted the redemptive work of Jesus Christ will suffer eternal separation from the Godhead. The devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, and anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life, shall be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire which burns with brimstone. This is the second death, the lake of fire. (Rev. 19: 20; 20:10-15).
THE MILLENNIAL REIGN OF JESUS The return of our Lord Jesus Christ with His saints from Heaven to rule and reign on earth as the scriptures promised. (Romans 11:25, 27; II Thess. 1:7; Rev. 19:11-16;20:17). After this, there shall be a new heaven and a new earth. (Rev. 21).
CIVIL GOVERNMENT We believe that civil government is by divine appointment and that civil laws should be upheld at all times except in things opposed to the will of God (Acts 4: 18-20; Romans 13:1-5).
JUDGMENT We believe that all shall stand before the judgment seat of Christ: the redeemed to be delivered unto everlasting life, and the unrepentant unto everlasting punishment (Revelation 20:11, 12; 2 Corinthians 5:10).
HEAVEN We believe that heaven is the glorious habitation of the living God and the eternal home of born-again believers (John 14:2; Revelation 7:15-17).
HELL We believe that hell is a place of darkness, deepest sorrow, and unquenchable fire, which was not prepared for man but for the devil and his angels; yet it will become the place of eternal separation from God for all who reject Christ as Savior (Matthew 13: 41, 42; Revelation 10:10, 15).
EVANGELISM We believe that winning people to Christ, coupled with discipleship, is one of our main functions as a church. Our message is that the Kingdom of God has come and that we are to administer the life of Christ through implementation of healing the sick, cleansing the lepers, raising the dead, casting out devils, freely we have received, freely we give (Matt. 10:7-9). It is through this process, we establish the Kingdom of God on the earth. (James 5:20; Mark 16:15).
TITHES AND OFFERINGS We believe that tithes and offerings are ordained of God to sustain His ministry, spread the Gospel, feed the poor and release personal blessing (Malachi 3:10; 1 Corinthians 16: 1, 2). We believe the pattern of giving was taught in the Old Testament and that we are to continue in the Spirit of giving in the New Testament through the giving of firstfruits, tithes, offerings and alms.
